Farmers Lives Matter Movement Rejoices with All Farmers and Agricultural Practitioners on Easter, Urges President Tinubu to Double Effort on Issues facing Farmers

As the farming community celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Farmers Lives Matter Movement wishes all farmers and agricultural practitioners a joyous Easter celebration. This festive period provides an opportunity to reflect on the vital contributions of farmers to our nation's food security and economy. Farmers feed the nation: without us, hunger and famine would ravage our communities.

However, while we rejoice, we cannot help but lament the challenges we face. Many of our brothers and sisters have been displaced, their investments destroyed, and their livelihoods threatened. We urge President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to address these issues.

We urge the government to take concrete steps to address the insecurity and challenges facing farmers and agricultural practitioners, which have resulted in loss of life, destruction of property, and displacement. Resettle us to our lands and homes.

We want to continue to provide food for families across the nation. IDP camps are not our homes; they are temporary shelters for those in distress. We want to return to our farms, to till the soil, and to reap the fruits of our labor.

We call on Mr. President to prioritize policies and initiatives that will enhance the welfare and productivity of farmers. Effective policies will ensure food security and promote sustainable agricultural development, for national prosperity. These initiatives will boost agricultural productivity, and drive economic growth through increased food availability. The time for action is now.
