Founded and launched by Google in April, 1, 2014, gmail has evolved a whole lot over the past 15 yearsfrom being an application you use only on desktop which helps you get more work done on the go via your smartphone or tablet to the first of its kind, tabbed inbox feature that organizes messages by category, so you can see what’s new at a glance.

Some other features like streaming of video attachments before downloading on the web, making money transfer via Google Wallet within Google's gmail app for android and AI-powered features like Smart Reply and Nudges which helps you reply messages faster and stay on top of your to-do lists and engagements sets the 15 years old messaging platform apart from its peers.

In celebrating 15 years of existence, Gmail is bringing new features your way.

A look at Gmail's Future - 3 amazing Features

1. A more assistive gmail via quick and smarter compose

In February, 2019, Hubspot wrote about some of Google's biggest AI projects, including Gmail's Smart Compose tool -- which uses machine-taught AI to predict how someone might finish a sentence with suggested text in an email composition.

At that time, they noted that much of Google's AI research has carried the idea, "Anyone can have a personal assistant."

Now, Google says - it's aligning Gmail with that narrative.

According to Google,

"Smart Compose tool has already saved people from typing over 1 billion characters each week—that’s enough to fill the pages of 1,000 copies of "Lord of the Rings”, we’re updating Smart Compose to include four more languages (Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese) and bringing it to Android (previously, it was only available on Pixel 3 devices), with iOS coming soon."
Smart Compose is also getting smarter with personalizing greetings suggestions for users. Lets say you prefer “Ahoy," or “Ello, mate” in your email opening greetings to regular 'Hi', Smart Compose will suggest that for you.

It can also suggest a subject line based on the email you’ve written.

2. Ability to plan ahead for future events

We all hate barging into people's privates or privacy (or have being inconvenient) and now google has got a new way to help us be more courteous with the way we send our emails.

Google has added a new feature that lets you schedule emails to be sent at a more appropriate date or time, which is helpful if you’re working across time zones.

The planning ahead feature avoids interrupting someone’s vacation.

3. Taking action directly from your inbox

Finally, Google is amplifying your activities by ensuring you take action without leaving your inbox.

You can now respond to a comment thread in Google Docs, browse hotel recommendations and more, directly within emails. This way you don’t have to open a new tab or app to get things done.

Congratulations Gmail on your 15 years of making 1.5 billion users inboxes less spammy!!!
